Description
This comprehensive four-day course builds on the knowledge gained in Level 1 and focuses on the operation and management of conventional water treatment processes and larger water distribution systems.
Participants will explore workplace safety, operational mathematics, conventional treatment processes including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection, as well as water distribution system operation and maintenance. The course also reviews operator certification requirements, administrative responsibilities, regulatory considerations, and the role of microbiology in water treatment.
Special emphasis is placed on disinfection principles and practices, providing participants with a deeper understanding of maintaining water quality and protecting public health. Designed to prepare participants for the Saskatchewan Level 2 Water Treatment and Level 2 Water Distribution certification exams, the course combines the AWWOA training manual with practical examples, supplementary handouts, and review quizzes to reinforce learning and build confidence for exam success.
