Gas chlorine is used in many large volume water treatment facilities. Water treatment operators need to be proficient in the safe management and care of gas chlorine systems and equipment. Theoretical information relating to disinfection, chemical dosage, and chlorine demand as well as the safety procedures required to work with gas chlorine will be covered. This workshop is appropriate for pool operators as well as water system operators. Our instructor has 25 years experience managing multiple facilities gas chlorine systems.
Students are required to demonstrate to the instructor their ability to safely work in a chlorine room by using the appropriate PPE, applying the knowledge they have learned during the workshop to change out cylinders and look for leaks. Discussion with the instructor regarding possible problems and solutions with the system is part of the training.
