This course runs over a four day period and covers the theoretical material associated with water treatment for Class 2 including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and a variety of disinfection technologies. A review of Class 1 safety, math and support systems is covered as well as some science concepts. Administration, operator certification and a review of microbiology is covered as well as regulations. The attendee is well prepared to write the Class 2 Water Treatment and Water Distribution certification exams at the conclusion. Throughout the course the AWWA manual is supplemented with relevant hand outs and review quizzes to help attendees prepare for the final exam.
Each course has an optional math refresher offered in the weeks preceding the course for those that may have been out of school for a period or those that feel they need a review before attending the training.
