Description
This comprehensive course combines Level 1 and Level 2 Water Treatment and Water Distribution training, taking participants from fundamental concepts through to the operation and management of conventional water treatment processes and larger water distribution systems.
Participants will explore workplace safety, basic and operational mathematics, water treatment processes, distribution systems, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. The course also covers water distribution system operation and maintenance, operator certification requirements, administrative responsibilities, regulatory considerations, and the role of microbiology in water treatment.
Special emphasis is placed on building a strong foundation before progressing into Level 2 concepts, including disinfection principles and practices and the operational knowledge required to maintain water quality and support safe, reliable water systems. Designed to prepare participants for the Saskatchewan Level 1 and Level 2 Water Treatment and Water Distribution certification exams, the course combines the AWWOA training manual with practical examples, supplementary handouts, and review quizzes to reinforce learning and build confidence for exam success.
